Dreamy watercolor sky. Florals. Gold sparkle. Stars. And a Greek sculpture blended right into the painting like she was always there. That is what we make. Three of them.

Meet Your Teacher

Hi there! I'm Sosha

"I studied art history in college and I loved the Renaissance. I also love astrology and skyscapes and dreamy, ethereal things. One day I thought. What if I combined all of that?"

My name is Sosha. I'm a painter, illustrator, and graphic designer. And the style you're seeing is something I created called Auroraissance.

It started as an experiment. It turned into the most freeing, joyful way I have ever made art. And I want to teach it to you.

Why Auroraissance

Title

This is what makes Auroraissance different from every other painting class.

Dreamy watercolor skies, not rules

Pink sky? Do it. Purple moon? Go for it. This style is all about mood and feeling. Not perfection or realism.

Gold sparkle and stars

The final detail pass is where it gets SO satisfying. Pens, gold ink, tiny stars, line art. This is where you make it yours.

A printed sculpture, blended right in

We fussy cut a classical Greek or Renaissance sculpture, paste her onto the painting, and paint florals around her. She looks like she was always there.

Three complete paintings

A Day Scape. A Night Scape. A Dawn to Dusk. Three finished pieces you made with your own hands. That feeling of "wait, I made that" is real.

What We Do Together

Title

Here is how the class breaks down.

Module 1

Exploring Color, Light & Flow

This is where the magic starts. Sosha teaches you how to mix dreamy pastel colors, create color swatches, and do warm-up watercolor washes. By the end you will feel confident and ready to paint.

Module 2

Creating Backgrounds for 3 Sky Scapes

Time to paint. You will create all three skyscapes: a warm glowing Day Scape, a deep moody Night Scape, and a Dawn to Dusk that blends both worlds. Sosha walks you through every step, including how to prep your paper and let the watercolor flow.

Module 3

First Layer Background Detail

Your backgrounds are dry and now they come to life. You will add florals, clouds, moons, and other background details. You will also choose the Greek sculpture you want to use and start planning where she goes.

Module 4

Mixed Media & Blending

This is the moment. You fussy cut your Greek sculpture, paste her onto your painting with matte medium, and start painting details around her so she looks like she was always there. SO satisfying to watch it come together.

Module 5

Final Details

The fun part. Pens, stars, gold sparkle, line art, and personal doodles. This is where you make each piece truly yours. Put on some music, light a candle, and just go for it. No rules here.

And Here's the Thing

Title

You can do this.

"I'm not a good enough artist."

There are no rules in this style. Nothing you do is wrong. Pink sky? Do it. Purple moon? Go for it. This is not about perfection. It is about mood and feeling. I mean it.

The Experience

Title

Creating is one of my healthy habits.

"When I am painting I am not thinking about my to-do list or the stress of the day. I am just in it. And it feels SO good."

Candle lit. Comfy clothes. Just be in it.

Good music. No pressure. No deadlines.

Inner peace. A calm mood. A real escape.

A creative practice that is just yours.

FAQs

What if I don’t have a laser printer to print my Greek sculptures with?

You can use an ink jet printer, just make sure you don’t skip the step of carefully covering your printed sculpture with a matte medium or matte paper mod podge.

Do I need to buy all of the same watercolors that are used in the class?

No, you can certainly use watercolors that you already have on hand and you could create your own mixes and colors if you prefer.

Do I have to use the greek sculpture printables provided for this class or can I use something else?

You can use whatever printables you’d like or something else you’d like to cut out of a book or magazine. Use caution and make sure you are not distributing your work for sale because it could become a copyright infringement.

Can I use a different paper if I don’t have any of the 3 papers used in the class?

Yes and no! Because we are using watercolors, inks, and matte mediums, a thicker paper is necessary to hold up to these mediums. A sketch paper no less than 90lbs or a cardstock could be used. If you need to buy the papers used in the class and don’t want to purchase all 3, I would suggest just buying the mixed media paper to use for all 3 projects.

What do I do with the finished art pieces?

There are many things you can do with them but I can suggest a few things and tell you what I do with my pieces. Most of my pieces stay in an art journal and I’ve hung a few on my wall in my art studio. You could frame them for your walls, make cards out of them, apply them to a larger piece of art, scan them into your computer to create digital pieces or prints on other materials.
